WHAT TO EXPECT

Elders: who are they?
David is a native Ohioan, hailing from Columbus.  Saved at a young age, David struggled with security of salvation in his early teen years.  At that time God assured David of His love and grace through John 10:28-30. David met Dorcas in college, and they were married in 1990.  Dorcas and David became members of Berean shortly after marrying.  Both teach at Delaware Christian School. They have 3 adult children. 

The church family chose David to be an elder in 2019. David serves in shepherding our youngest in children’s discipleship.

Matt became the lead pastor of Berean Bible Church in August 2016. He grew up in upstate NY, lived in VT for a few years, before heading off to college and seminary. While in college, he met Deanna, and they were married in 1999. Before coming to Berean, Matt ministered at a local church in the Tidewater area of Virginia, for sixteen years in various capacities. Matt and Deanna have three boys.

As the lead pastor, Matt has the sobering responsibility to weekly preach-teach The glorious King Jesus from the Word of God. He hopes to help all behold, enjoy, and pursue Jesus!

Lead Pastor

Born in Illinois, Tom was raised in Michigan before attending Taylor University in Indiana. Returning to Michigan to teach HS English for three years, he came to Ohio and practiced law for 43 years.

He accepted Jesus as his Savior at 6 years of age. Through God’s grace and amazing patience, the beautiful process of growing in Him continues to this day.

Tom and Michele have four wonderful sons and daughters-in-law as well as 12 grandchildren scattered about the country. Since coming to Berean in 2021, he has been involved in Men’s Discipleship Ministry for which he desires that all grow in grace
and the knowledge of Jesus so that all of us will be prepared for the work of the ministry.
